I see my art as a way to resuscitate long forgotten culture and to give voice to both the disabled and the able people who can’t express themselves due to the fear of the unknown, fear of being stigmatized etc .
BIO
Dan, Uduak-obong Tony.(b. MAY, 1994). Hails from Akwa ibom state, Nigerian. He is a Bachelor of Art (Hons.) degree holder.
Uduak-obong began drawing at the age of seven, using graphite pencils and materials from his mother’s makeup bag. He always feels genuine to develop paintings that speak both to him and to others about the existence of aesthetics in African culture and the perceptions of society.
He does not limit himself to one medium, Uduak-obong uses acrylic, oil and charcoal as a means of expressing himself and inclusion of Nsibidi motifs on the clothes like mirror, love, congress, journey, speech to communicate in the native tongue. to show how Africans see themselves.
